Intro to Web Assembly

Abstract:
WebAssembly is “an open source, portable, size and load time efficient format suitable for compilation to the web”. WebAssembly is supported by a consortium of all four major browser vendors (Mozilla, Google, Apple, Microsoft). A MVP was released in FireFox version 52 in March 2017. The goal of this session is to provide a overview of WebAssembly’s design goals, examples, and a road map of the proposed features. Will this be the end of JavaScript in the browser?
